three worthy things

happy sunday, everyone! definitely another weekend for the books! dinner with great friends, a day of skiing and adventures in stowe. unfortunately for me, it’s my monday and i’m back to work tonight. i’ll be obsessing over this week’s ‘three worthy things’ all night.

last time tiffany and i went to new york city we decided to splurge and see what the hype about paintbox nails was. i’ve followed their instagram account for some time and have nail envy over every single design. they’re known as a “high-design nail studio” that will give you an immaculate mani while you’re sipping champagne. whether you want a plain color or full design, you’ll walk out and want to wave your fingers in front of everyone else to oogle. i wish i lived closer to the city because i would totally have to frequent this place – only after i won the lottery though.IMG_1858.JPG

okay, so recently i’ve been obsessed with trader joe’s. i’ve found the best time to go is either after 8pm or before 10am and i avoid the weekends if i don’t want to gauge my eyes out with the parking lot and the people inside. [i know, i sound like a total brat, but you ALL know what i’m talking about…] i’ve also found that it’s especially helpful to do a bit of googling to find the absolute best products that i shouldn’t be forgetting because it’s quite easy to get lost once inside. surprisingly, this product has never come up during my searches. so, i’m gifting the product to you all. i like to have a package or two of this in the freezer for nights i don’t want to cook, which, let’s be honest, is quite frequent. there’s more than one serving so i usually end up eating the leftovers for lunch the next day! add a salad and some bread, obviously a bottle of wine and you’ve got yourself a meal. you’re welcome.

-unfortunately, i can’t find the direct link on the trader joe’s website, so this is all i can give you-Screen Shot 2017-12-07 at 8.21.38 PM

mari andrew, is a writer and illustrator living in new york who i can’t help but adore. i follow her on instagram and love when i stumble on her illustrations – they’re upbeat and put a smile on my face – especially when most of what i see these days is negative and usually real depressing. apparently she’s coming out with a book this spring which would be the cutest coffee table book to flip through. here are a few of my favorite pics.

next week is christmas! can’t believe it’s almost here – i better finish up some last minute shopping, wrapping and [CLEANING] before my parents arrive! 😀

happy sunday!

three worthy things

another sunday come and gone already?! it was a beautiful weekend here in burlington, mother nature really came in big.

currently obsessing over this candle that i found in hudson last weekend. i have been looking for a candle that has a masculine scent without being overwhelming/overpowering, is relatively slow burning but also has the ability to scent up the entire room and it just can’t come in a super ugly jar. i’m happy to say i have finally found the one. some of the other candles i have been looking at just haven’t quite fit the bill. oh and did i mention that you’ll actually have some bills in your pocket even after buying this one??

now that i’m working full time nights i’ve had some more down time during the days and have been spending lots of time reading. i have always been the “omg i love books, and i couldn’t think of ever giving up a book for a device” reader but there’s something to be said about a kindle – trust me – you can easily pack hundreds of books for your vacation, it’s super light, you can read it in full sun [which you can’t off an ipad], and if you’re an amazon prime member you get free books! regardless, i couldn’t put the damn thing down when i was reading this book. and i promise, it’s much more light hearted than it appears on first glance. and thanks to this post from cup of jo, i’ll have all sorts of good suggestions to bring to the next book club! anyone reading something that you recommend?

it’s almost a sin to call fall in vermont complete without a combination of hiking, leaf peeping and/or apple picking. please try and find one person who hasn’t done any of those things this fall. and most everyone will try to get all three activities done in one day! anyways, i jumped on the band wagon and spent sunday afternoon in bolton going on this little hike. rounding out the afternoon with some beers at a waterbury brewery was EXACTLY what the doctor ordered. and i fell in love with this beer. fullsizeoutput_1973.jpeg

happy monday!

three worthy things

monday, woof. it really threw me for a loop today. altering this weeks edition just a hair…

i’m going to start with a belated birthday shoutout to tiffany; 39 never looked so good. 😉 we celebrated by coaching a lacrosse tournament in new york and then with a dinner at the lobby in middlebury. a friend introduced us to her friend’s jewelry brand, otem, which is based out of brooklyn. this is where i found tiffy’s bday gift. seriously, go check them out, because they have beautiful jewelry. IMG_0606.JPG

going off on the jewelry tangent, i can’t help but share this amazing jewelry brand. i’m seriously obsessing over everything they make. especially their choker/collar necklaces. this bracelet is the first item on my wish list. oh, and check out the instagram account, it makes you want things even more.

next up is, ‘the couple next door‘ by shari lapena. holy moly this book is INSANELY good. i literally could not put it down – i bought it sunday and closed it on wednesday night –  and the ending just leaves you wanting more. i’m desperately hoping there’s a second book. here’s a slight recap taken from goodreads:

“You never know what’s happening on the other side of the wall. Your neighbor told you that she didn’t want your six-month-old daughter at the dinner party. Nothing personal, she just couldn’t stand her crying. Your husband said it would be fine. After all, you only live next door. You’ll have the baby monitor and you’ll take it in turns to go back every half hour. Your daughter was sleeping when you checked on her last. But now, as you race up the stairs in your deathly quiet house, your worst fears are realized. She’s gone.
You’ve never had to call the police before. But now they’re in your home, and who knows what they’ll find there. What would you be capable of, when pushed past your limit?”

a couple weekends ago, some friends of mine introduced me to a lawn game called kubb. to be honest, i was not expecting it to be that fun seeing as that it literally is a bunch of blocks and a couple dowels, but, i was pleasantly proved wrong. add a sunny afternoon, a good group of friends and a case of beer and you’ve got yourself an afternoon.

what are your favorite afternoon lawn games?

three worthy things

a bit of a delay on this ‘week’ of the series… life has been a tiny bit busy and i feel like i’ve finally come up for air. for now….

now that it’s officially june and almost feeling like summer here in vermont [for those of you who, also, live in vermont, you understand] i’m going to introduce you to one of my all time favorite summer essentials – rosé. which, sure sure, everyone knows and loves rosé already but i’m currently obsessing over this one. i’ve had a harder time finding it, but recently had it at a friends house who directed me toward costco to buy some. and that is EXACTLY what happened. it’s relatively cheap, comes in a pretty bottle, and is easy to drink. need i say more?Screen Shot 2017-06-04 at 5.25.31 PM.png

i follow a couple of instagram accounts related to medicine which are some of my favorite accounts to follow. i can spend 20 minutes digging through the posts; some are related to surgeries, or mystery diagnoses while some are before and after pictures of traumas. one of these said accounts directed me to codex anatomy – super cool anatomy prints, for cheap too!! i would love a gallery wall with a couple black and white prints.

and if you head there right now, they’re having a buy one get one free sale!

one of the best gifts i have ever received was “a guide to where the best chefs eat” it literally is exactly what it sounds like. the restaurants are tailored based on location and they’re a great resource when planning a trip! it’s also something fun to flip through to see if you’ve ever been to any of the restaurants!Screen Shot 2017-06-04 at 6.26.39 PM.png

and a little flash back to literally a year ago…. wishing it was as warm as it was then. AND wishing we were all at camp. ❤

happy sunday, folks.

p.s. i need some feedback on the direction you want these posts to go. aaaaand go.
