happy sunday, everyone! definitely another weekend for the books! dinner with great friends, a day of skiing and adventures in stowe. unfortunately for me, it’s my monday and i’m back to work tonight. i’ll be obsessing over this week’s ‘three worthy things’ all night.
last time tiffany and i went to new york city we decided to splurge and see what the hype about paintbox nails was. i’ve followed their instagram account for some time and have nail envy over everysingle design. they’re known as a “high-design nail studio” that will give you an immaculate mani while you’re sipping champagne. whether you want a plain color or full design, you’ll walk out and want to wave your fingers in front of everyone else to oogle. i wish i lived closer to the city because i would totally have to frequent this place – only after i won the lottery though.
okay, so recently i’ve been obsessed with trader joe’s. i’ve found the best time to go is either after 8pm or before 10am and i avoid the weekends if i don’t want to gauge my eyes out with the parking lot and the people inside. [i know, i sound like a total brat, but you ALL know what i’m talking about…] i’ve also found that it’s especially helpful to do a bit of googling to find the absolute best products that i shouldn’t be forgetting because it’s quite easy to get lost once inside. surprisingly, this product has never come up during my searches. so, i’m gifting the product to you all. i like to have a package or two of this in the freezer for nights i don’t want to cook, which, let’s be honest, is quite frequent. there’s more than one serving so i usually end up eating the leftovers for lunch the next day! add a salad and some bread, obviously a bottle of wine and you’ve got yourself a meal. you’re welcome.
-unfortunately, i can’t find the direct link on the trader joe’s website, so this is all i can give you-
mari andrew, is a writer and illustrator living in new york who i can’t help but adore. i follow her on instagram and love when i stumble on her illustrations – they’re upbeat and put a smile on my face – especially when most of what i see these days is negative and usually real depressing. apparently she’s coming out with a book this spring which would be the cutest coffee table book to flip through. here are a few of my favorite pics.
next week is christmas! can’t believe it’s almost here – i better finish up some last minute shopping, wrapping and [CLEANING] before my parents arrive! 😀
this evening i met some co-workers for an afternoon of christmas shopping and dinner out a leunig’s. i knew i wanted to wear something cute, but comfortable and most importantly warm – the wind was frigid on church street!
this is what i decided to wear:
gap jeans // these are [embarrassingly] from my high school days – and i have ZERO idea how i still fit into them. the holes have gotten progressively bigger and soon, i dread, it’ll be time to get rid of them all together…
jcrew sweater // again, i buy a lot of my sweaters one or two sizes larger because the comfort level is to die for!
jcrewjacket // i asked santa for this wool coat a couple of years ago and today it’s still one of my favorite. it’s surprisingly extra warm and can easily dress up an outfit.
bonus! the jacket is on sale right now with code: HOLIDAY
dolce vita booties // i found these babies at nordstrom rack in san francisco when i was visiting my older sisters. needless to say, i’ve treked across san fran and burlington in them and they have definitely gotten better with age.
tomorrow into friday are supposed to be record lows for the year – wish me luck. i plan on not leaving my house. perhaps some christmas cookie baking and wrapping of presents…?
happy sunday everyone! i spent today organizing for my FIRST day in the hospital as an RN, (ah!) scootering all over town, and doing some cooking! i went to tiffany’s house to hang out by the pool, rough life, right? it was both hot and humid today so nothing felt better than that cold pool. on my way back from tiffany’s i stopped by the grocery store and got the ingredients to make this black bean soup. i know, soup sounds weird when it’s hot and humid but i couldn’t resist. it literally took 20 minutes to make and was actually really good! the whole idea behind the soup was that i can take the leftovers to work this week! if i don’t plan my lunches at the beginning of the week, i do one of two things: 1. spend money that i don’t want to spend (or) 2. eat food that isn’t great for me (and when i’m feeling super lazy i spend money AND buy bad food). i’ll let you all know how this “great” idea works out!
i found this really amazing website called kitchen daily (where i found that recipe) and i fell in love right away! you can use their search bar to look for somethings specific or just browse. one of the coolest things is that you can make a grocery list right online! add whatever else you may need and have it printed or emailed! brilliant. and the best part about the ENTIRE website is that it’s free! check it out, make some food and let me know if there are any favorite must make recipes!
happy sunday lovers! i’m off to take the love pup to the beach!
