farm girl flowers, a growing company based outside of san francisco, is my favorite place to order a delivery of flowers from. they work with farmers throughout california to create the most beautiful bouquets. delivery for most items is $25.00 and can be at your door the next day – even if your door is all the way across the U.S. like mine is!

check out their instagram to see some of their previous arrangements!

my personal fave

i’ve been obsessing over the book, ‘the woman in cabin 10’ by ruth ware. i finished it last night and holy moley, it keeps you engaged and i couldn’t put it down. i told myself i’d stop at 9:30 and then it was 11:00 before i finally forced myself to quit. here is a synopsis i stole from google books:

“This was meant to be the perfect trip. The Northern Lights. A luxury press launch on a boutique cruise ship. A chance for travel journalist Lo Blackwood to recover from a traumatic break-in that has left her on the verge of collapse, and to work out what she wants from her relationship.Except things don’t go as planned. Woken in the night by screams, Lo rushes to her window to see a body thrown overboard from the next door cabin. But the records show that no-one ever checked into that cabin, and no passengers are missing from the boat.Exhausted, emotional and increasingly desperate, Lo has to face the fact that her sleep problems might be driving her mad or she is trapped on a boat with a murderer and she is the sole witness…”

i promise you won’t be disappointed.

these little pre-made cocktail stirrers from trader joe’s are a hidden gem. for less than $5.00 a jar, you earn some serious bragging rights when your cocktail has one of these in it. imagine one in a bloody mary… on sunday… during football season… i think yes. i’ll be whipping into mine this upcoming sunday [preparing for a ‘hair of the dog’ cocktail

three worthy things

happy friday for all you traditional working peeps. congrats, you’ve almost made it to the weekend. for me, it’s only the start of my work week and sometimes i really hate working weekends. especially when all my friends are making really fun plans without me. i digress….

i received this book for christmas from tiffany and it’s amazingggggg. i wish our living spaces could look as good as they do in the book. it’s the best coffee table book and it provides plenty of inspiration. Screen Shot 2017-03-23 at 10.44.49 AM.png

i love checking my email in the morning because i’m always looking for my daily dose of the news. theSkimm honestly makes me feel less naive about the world.

let me start by saying that the two girls who started it are geniuses and i really wish i had this idea.

they start by doing the leg work [aka, lots and lots of reading world news] and then write the “skimm’d” down version into one little email. if you’re in a rush and can only take 5 minutes to read through it, great. if you’re someone who has more time in the morning and can read through some of the articles they link into the email, also, great.

they cover everything from march madness to immigration to the presidential inauguration.

oh and sign up through me. not [really] sure what happens when you do, but just do it. 😀

look at THIS HOUSE. or more importantly the views from the house. ian and i were looking into going somewhere to spend a week during the colder months and we stumbled up on this beauty. we never even went anywhere but holy moley, i would love to spend a week here! or even a night or two. Screen Shot 2017-03-23 at 11.39.10 AM.png

just imagine sippin’ on a glass of rose looking at that every evening. yes please.

winter ain’t over

we were out shooting the other day and it was, honestly, FRIGID. mother nature has told vermont that winter isn’t going anywhere yet. i’m just counting down the days until spring is here to stay. i’ve been needing an extra layer or two under my down jacket. here is what i wore to drinks the other day:

my all time favorite black sweater from lululemon (similar here) // royal blue blue jeans from gap from ages ago (similar here) // free people scarf and wrap from urban outfitters (i can’t find it anywhere!) // my favorite frye booties from nordstrom rack (similar here) // wyeth sunglasses // cole haan down jacket from nordstrom (similar here) // ampersand as apostrophe bag from liebling

happy thursday! what are your go-to outfits to stay warm??

“slow it down…”

happy monday, peeps – hope you all had a killer weekend.

we ventured up to montreal and hung out with the kaleo and the lumineers at the bell centre. it was one of the best nights i’ve had in a while. i’ve seen the lumineers play a couple of times before this weekend and they literally get better every time. something i love about them, is that they sound the exact same in concert as they do via spotify. 😀

AND they’re from denver which makes me love them even more. we got last minute nosebleed tickets but that didn’t even matter because it was still a blast. IMG_0139

we made a day of our adventure and stopped at zara and anthropologie on the way up where i picked up this skirt. i can’t wait to wear it when it gets a little bit warmer! especially with a pair of madeline’s high tops – yes please! Screen Shot 2017-03-20 at 10.04.37 AM.png

before the show we had to hit up my favorite restaurant, dolcetto & co. i’m not even sure what else to tell you about it besides the fact that i literally go there EVERY SINGLE TIME i’m in montreal. it simply is that good. during the summer they open the big front windows and leave the doors open. unfortunately it was a bit too cold for that this weekend…. when you go, order the burrata.

P.S. – another killer place to order burrata.

snowmageddon 2017

well it’s happening. it’s really happening. quicker than we all thought possible, too. snowmaggedon2017 is a real thing. it started snowing today about 9:30 am.

10:00 am hits and the roads are covered with a white dust. it’s still snowing.

12:00 pm – still snowing. i think about possibly going outside to shovel the snow, but then i think better and i don’t.

2:30 pm – still snowing. harder now. heavy wet fast flakes are hitting the [completely] snow covered ground. i continue to think about going to shovel the driveway and sidewalks and my better judgement comes and slaps me in the face.

<insert cat nap here>

5:00 pm and i think about shoveling again. then i open wine and decide to not look outside any more. oh and yes, it’s still snowing.

weather-man (or) woman jones is reporting up to 26″ of snow and have named the storm, ‘stella’. after the first big snow of the year, i was all about winter. until it melted and, since then, i’ve been diagnosed with a serious case of spring fever. so this storm has come at the most inopportune moments. it’s got me scrollin though pictures from our puerto rico trip last year…. missing the sun and sand at sun bay!

i’ve also been scrolling through the interweb and found these amazing items that have me dreamin’ about spring…

this super cute off the shoulder poplin top. and who woulda thunk, it’s from abercrombie & fitch. and it’s even on sale right now! Screen Shot 2017-03-14 at 2.39.52 PM.png

this super comfortable locker room pull over. it would look great with spandex in the early mornings, or worn with a pair of shorts during a late night bonfire. Screen Shot 2017-03-14 at 2.43.13 PM.png

these adorable vince camuto peep toe booties. they’re a great transition piece in the spring, would be perfect all summer and i REALLY want to see them with a pair of white jeans. Screen Shot 2017-03-14 at 2.47.06 PM.png

i’m really loving the simplicity yet delicacy of this top. it looks great alone, throw a jean jacket over it, or even a chunky cardigan for something a bit warmer! Screen Shot 2017-03-14 at 2.54.41 PM.png

stay safe out there during stella’s wrath and think spring!

three worthy things

episode two of ‘three worthy things’

i follow onia on instagram and i’ve been obsessing over their instagram stories lately. the suit below is one of my all time favorites found on their website, but some of their new spring items are serious winners.  Screen Shot 2017-03-09 at 8.39.00 PM

the two below are [clearly] screen shots of their instagram story a little bit ago. the suit on the right is the yvette one piece – i can’t wait until i can buy it!

this article i found in the new york times is beautifully written. but consider yourself warned – you will go through an entire box of tissues. after a hard day at work, it reiterates how important my job truly is. ❤

for those of you who haven’t heard of kari gran skin care and makeup (more specifically her lip whip), well now you have, and you’re welcome. your lips will thank you. the packaging and presentation is almost so pretty that you don’t want to use it – but then you do and you can’t stop. and even better? it’s all natural with no gross stuff. [yes, stuff].

happy tuesday!

three worthy things

hiya. i’m aiming to start a weekly “three worthy things” post where i introduce new goodies – places to go, things to buy, pretty houses, interesting articles, good new recipes. if you’d like to see something in particular looked at in more detail let me know!

first up are these prints i found on etsy from tai prints. they’re simple and beautiful. i have two in my bedroom and a third in the downstairs bathroom. Screen Shot 2017-03-09 at 7.05.35 PM

i’ve found the most amazing destination house to visit this summer. or anytime of the year, rather…. this search engine is very similar to airbnb and vrbo, but it’s kid friendly in design. kid and coe have both large and small houses all throughout the world and they’re all perfect for families. i found this one called the acra residence in the catskills mountains of upstate new york and holy moly it looks fabulous. i’d love to head there this summer! Screen Shot 2017-03-09 at 7.15.14 PMScreen Shot 2017-03-09 at 7.14.12 PMScreen Shot 2017-03-09 at 7.37.20 PM

my sister, tiffany, introduced me to meredith hahn jewelry when i was in college. i, honestly, haven’t bought anything from her, but i sure do love her work. i’m a real big fan of the simpler pieces especially this rita necklace. looks great by itself or layered with another necklace. Screen Shot 2017-03-09 at 7.32.15 PMScreen Shot 2017-03-09 at 7.32.06 PM

hope you enjoyed the first ‘three worthy things’! see you next time!
