hello world

ya, hard to believe it but i’m actually here. it’s been so long since i’ve actually showed up, i almost forget how to do this. 🙂 but luckily for you (or unluckily) i didn’t forget! 🙂 whoop whoop. here’s what i’ve been up to in the last 4 months. yikes that’s a long time…

february…

february was cold here! sylvie and i stayed indoors for most of it. 🙂 unfortunately, she got her usual “it’s the middle of the winter and i have way too much mucus” so she was admitted to the hospital due to dehydration. 7 days, lots of IV fluids, plenty of new stuffed animals, and an unplanned g-tube later we left the hospital. sylvie was full of smiles – she was heading home!!

as everyone knows, tiffany, made the trip out to burlington around new years and we’ve been tearing up the town ever since. it’s been so fun having her here!

march…

february came and went and the countdown was ON for our spring break trip. being a spring athlete i never got the chance to go on an actual spring break trip. ya ya, i traveled for lacrosse and with my family to places but i had never experienced somewhere tropical with friends. until this year. 😀 brenna, claire and i decided to head to breezes in the bahamas for a week and it was UNREAL. seriously the best money spent! we had so much fun. the weather was amazing, the location was amazing, we met such great friends-couldn’t have been better. expect for the fact that i never wanted to come back…

april…

so my previous lacrosse coaches had the stinkin’ cutest baby ever in january and i got to babysit! seriously adorable. her name is leighton and if she had a dollar for every person who came up to her and said, “omg, look at those CHEEKS” she could’ve paid for her college education by now.

cute, right?
cute, right?

so i have traveled and “seen” my fair share of the US due to all my lacrosse tournaments growing up, yet when we went to play, that’s all we did. i guess i should say i’ve been to places but haven’t seen them. well i’ve been to chicago but this april i was able to see chicago. and boy oh boy am i in love. i had the opportunity to visit northwestern memorial and meet with a nurse manager on one of the cardiac floors (essentially my dream job) and at the same time i met up with friends and got to see the city! such an amazing place, i seriously want to move there! if only i could’ve stayed longer!

this thing is seriously trippy.

may…

now that we endured the freezing winter and the warm-ish spring, may came around and was semi-bipolar with the weather. one day it would be raining and gloomy while the next we’d be laying on my roof in our bikinis drinking beers. i guess we could say we got it all.

sometimes i would travel with the lacrosse team in order to take care of leighton, and this spring the team traveled to albany, ny. one of my absolute best friends lives there so all the girls used it as a good weekend for a reunion. it was filled with laughs, leighton’s crying, (: reminiscing about “old times” (aka: last year), and way too much liquor. needless to say, i’d consider it a successful trip.

so because we had such an amazing time in the bahamas with all our new friends, we decided to make a trip to boston college to visit them. it was such a fun trip and couldn’t have fallen at a better time! we had just finished finals, literally we were done with college that afternoon, as well as brenna and our friend baloff just got jobs! it was awesome! after that trip the rest of the “school year” was filled with lots of celebrating & GRADUATION! AH! i seriously couldn’t believe that it was time for me to graduate, ya i’d been at UVM for 5 years but it felt like first day of freshman year was last week. if i were to do it all over again, i wouldn’t change a single thing. 2013-05-18 at 07-40-15

the big day!
the big day!

so after graduation i had about a week or so before i was going to make the drive (yes, drive) back to colorado. i spent that time in my NCLEX review course while my loving mother cleaned and packed up my apartment. 😀 it was wednesday afternoon and i was sitting in class when i got a phone call asking me to come in for an interview at Fletcher Allen. i scheduled one for the next morning and on friday afternoon i was called with a job offer! my plans had changed dramatically and instead of shipping all those boxes back to colorado, i stuck them in a friends garage for the summer. it’s been rather stressful on my end. 🙂

i ended up flying back to colorado in order to spend a few days at home and see some friends. i was also flying to san francisco from colorado for the AIDS LifeCycle bike ride. somehow, my sister jen, had convinced tiffany and i that it would be a good idea to sign up. we did and i am SO happy that i did. it was the most life changing experience ever. i met so many great people during those 7 days and wouldn’t change a single minute of it. at times, it was grueling but with everyone’s positive energy and support it was totally doable. this is us after making it to LA.

elated to have made it all 545 miles.

so that about wraps up my life the last few months. now that i’ve graduated and i’m part of the real world now (gasp) i’m hoping it’ll be easier to post here more than once every 4 months. 😀 until next time… i’m going to leave you all with the most amazing YouTube videos! both are about the bike ride i did. seriously cannot stop talking about how great of a time i had. you all should do it.

after day 3 every rider put a red sticker on these huge wooden “20 M” cut outs. here is the video.

this video almost makes me cry. having a tough day? there will be tears. consider yourself warned.
